Overvoltage Protection (SPD)
An over-voltage protection component is essentially used to model a Surge Protection Device or SPD for short. When the user selects Over-voltage protection option ElectricalOM will insert a single- or three-phase SPD depending on the insertion point automatically.
Over-voltage protection can also be added as an incomer device.
Once the component is inserted, the settings can be accessed via the Circuit edit Module. Protective device tab will be shown as default and Ph/N Conductor, Earthing, Correction Factors, and Voltage Drop tabs will not be active.
User can also overwrite the description using Overwrite description tick box and using the text fields.
ElectricalOM provides various informative and guidance windows at the settings area. Guidance windows have values set as links so the user can click on and set is as current value.
An over-current protective device can also be placed as an incomer using a board's Protective Devices tab. The settings are the same as above.
SPD can also be inserted after or before the incomer of a board using the position options.
